Joshua Tree National Monument

Recently I dragged myself from a pool in Palm Springs to the nearby Joshua Tree National Monument. It was worth the (minimal) effort: Despite the drought in Southern California, the park was in full spring bloom. The Mojave and Colorado deserts meet at Joshua Tree, and there's something prehistoric about the changing scenery -- as if the woolly mammoths had passed by just moments ago. Here are the pictures.
